GOTRNA Pacesetter Volunteer Group

Want to volunteer, but can't commit to a full season of coaching? Join Girls on the Run of Northern Arizona (GOTRNA) Pacesetters! GOTRNA Pacesetters are a diverse group of volunteers who "set the pace" by supporting our program in various ways. Whether you have a few hours or a flexible schedule, you can make an impact!

Pacesetter tasks include such things as:

  • Distribution - Deliver essential program items—t-shirts, sports bras, coach supplies, water bottles, and more—to participating schools across Northern Arizona, from Prescott to the Navajo and Hopi Nations. You’ll focus on locations that are convenient for you, so you’re not expected to cover the entire region.
  • Tabling / Outreach - Represent GOTRNA at community events, share our mission, distribute flyers, and help build awareness by inviting others to get involved.
  • Event Support - Assist with major GOTRNA events, including the 5K Celebrations and our annual Galentine's Day fundraiser. Tasks may include setup, teardown, water stations, cheer zones, and sponsorship support.

Not all Pacesetters do every task; you choose roles that align with your unique talents and availability. Training and support are provided by GOTRNA staff as needed.

5K Volunteers

Each year, we host two 5K celebration events in November, celebrating our participants and helping them build confidence though accomplishment.

One event takes place in Flagstaff for our Coconino County and Navajo/Hopi teams, and the other in Camp Verde for our Yavapai County teams. While both events rely heavily on volunteers, the Camp Verde 5K is a high-need area where your support can make a significant difference.

Here are some ways you can help:

  • Water Station
  • Happy Hair Stations
  • Running Buddy opportunities, where we invite family members and/or trusted friends to run alongside participants.
  • Sponsorship opportunities - Show off your organization at our 5K and let our community know how you’re empowering the next generation of leaders. Sponsorship options include branding opportunities at key stations like water stops, Happy Hair, and more
